Just the other day my co-worker's great aunt passed away. After mourning her death and separating her belongings they discovered a 2 karat yellow diamond ring. They had no idea she even owned such an item and as you can imagine it came as quite a surprise. I can't imagine finding a gem such as that. Maurice Sendak Is he with the Wild Things ?

Maurice Sandak, award winning childrens author and illustrator dies at the age of 83 at his Connecticut home.  He died from complications from a stroke.  He was born in Brooklyn in 1928.  He is best known for his book, "Where the Wild Things Are."

He always loved to draw.  His first professional illustrating job was for a physics textbook, " Atomics for the Millions" in 1947.  At the age of 20, he started a job as a window display builder for F.A.O. Schwarz.

"He always spoke the truth to children" says his longtime friend and publisher, Lisa Holton, " It was always about the unvarnished truth about human life, which is why children loved him so much".

"Bumbleardy" was published in September, his first book in 30 years.  His final publication will be in February.  A poem written and illustrated for his beloved late brother, Jack.  "My Brother's Book."

"But the wild things cried,  "Oh please don't go- We'll eat you up- we love you so!"

Rest in peace.....you will be missed but you will be with us forever in your stories and pictures.

vow renewals....popular but necessary???

This was a busy weekend in celebrity land for couples renewing their wedding vows.  Really,  after only 1 year of marriage these couples feel it is needed to renew vows they took so recently?  Did you forget so soon what they were?  or are you afraid that your spouse has forgotten?

Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes and Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon all renewed their wedding vows over the weekend.  Are these couples madly in love or having problems that they are trying to fix?

I seem to recall that Seal and Heidi Klum renewed their wedding vows every anniversary.  Now after 7 years of marriage and all of those renewal ceremonies they have broken up.

Shouln't renewal of the vows be for couples who have been married a long time, like maybe 20 or more years?  or couples who have come close to splitting up and saved their marriage?  It just may be that the celebrities can afford to do it so they do, where as us regular married people feel like I already paid for the wedding.  If you need me to renew them, maybe you just need a refresher in what they were in the first place.

Well, we will all see if these couples do better in the long run since they are all renewed.

Octomom broke but will do porn!

Ocotmom, Nadya Suleman, is broke and has filed for chapter 7, bankruptcy in Orange county.  The single mom of 14 children is in danger of losing her home and has no steady job.  She says she would now even consider doing porn if it paid well enough.  i guess if you are desperate enough and she does have 14 kids to feed and clothe.  I know I would do most anything for my kids, but no one forced her to have 14 kids either.  All of her kids were conceived using in vitro fertilization.  Adults also have to be responsible enough to plan when they have kids to know how they plan to care for them.

She says it has been a year of tough choices for her,  She has had to accept $2000 in food stamps a month and posed nearly nude for British magazine, Closer.  She says, " I want us to have, they deserve, I want  an empire. And I am going to have it."

Where are your parenst Nadya?  It takes a village to raise a child,  where is your village?

Jessica Simpson FINALLY gives birth!!

Jessica simpson has finally given birth to her daughter.  It seems to all of us she has been pregnant forever.  Jessica and fiance, Eric Johnson, former NFL football player, welcomed their daughter on Tuesday morning. 

The little girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces.  She is named after her dad, Maxwell is his middle name and Jessica's grandmother, Tina [ Drew ] Simpson.  She will be called Maxi.  A very cute little name.

Jessica and Eric have been engaged since November but postponed the wedding once they found out that they were expecting.  She was formerly married to Nick Lachey.  They beat her former husband to the delivery room.   Now we will have to see how long until Jessica and Eric head down the matrimony aisle.

Now all the celebrity watchers will be on the look for the first photo of little Maxi and of course, how long for mommy to lose her baby weight.

A McDreamy Hero plays doctor

Patrick Dempsey, known as McDreamy, from playing a doctor on Grey's Anatomy, got to play doctor in real life.  He came upon 17 year old, Weston Masset, who had crashed and rolled his Ford Mustang in Malibu.   Weston was trapped in the car and bareley conscious.  Patrick used a crow bar and fire extinguisher to rescue him.  He stayed with the boy along with his wife and neighbors until paramedics arrived.  the teen was airlifted to a hospital. 
Dempsey has twin boys of his own so I am sure he felt he needed to do what he could.  Its nice to see that there is some good in the world.  We all could use a Feel Good story out of celebrity land for a change.

The teen is expected to make a full recovery.  He had a eye injury and concussion.  Dempsey even called the boys mother to check on his condition.  What a phone call that must of been for the mom.

From Mcdreamy to McHero!  

Justin Bieber sings song about NOT the baby daddy

Justin Bieber is Not a baby daddy and now he also has written a song to commemorate the fact.   He has written the song for his new album.  He says he has written over 40 songs so who knows if the song will actually be on the new album.  He better be careful of what he says,  don't want to give her ammunition to sue him.  Bieber will add his name to a long list of artists who have also written revenge songs in the past.  We all know of the songs by Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Pink.  The also classic "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson.

Last November, Bieber was falsely accused by, Mariah Yeater, of being the father of her then 3 month old son.  She later dropped the case against him.  Justin still did a paternity test to prove that he was definitely not the child's father.

All I can say say is ....sing that song Justin and then move on.
